Photographs: vernacular photography

Publisher: self-published

Year: 2025

Price: 500

Comments: All books in the series share the same format: 10 × 19 cm. Each page is triple-folded and sewn together, creating different combinations of photos. When you hold the book, you’re invited to open and fold the pages in your own way, forming personal collages of images. Each book comes in an individual slipcase, and every issue features a spine of a different color. Limited Edition.

This series is based on a found archive of 36 photographic films taken between 1979 and 1984.
The author of these photos is an unknown boy, approximately 11–16 years old, who lived in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg).
He photographed his friends, school, lessons, walks around the city, trips to a pioneer camp, hikes—everything that came into his field of vision.

His perspective on the 1980s felt so unique that I decided to share these images as a series of photo books.
