Sixty-three black and white photos taken by the photographer Andrea Attardi from 1984 to 2009 through the Italian Southern region of Sicily.
In so doing, he creates a visual account, a breviario, of a region which is associated with several stereotypes.
Nonetheless, Attardi avoids to indulge in such stereotypes; Sicily is not only its summers, which attract every year mass tourism, nor simply its archeological and baroque remains. Attardi goes beyond signs and architectures in order to frame portions of reality which seem rather a mise-en-scène.
