Remigius Treigys was born on June 26 in 1961 in Kaunas, Lithuania.
From 1982 to 1987 he studied at the Lithuanian Art institute (presently – Vilnius Art Academy). In 1988 he became a member of Lithuanian Photo Artists Association. 
He received an award from the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture in 1991 and  a scholarship for young artists provided by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania. In 1992. Both in 2003 and 2004 Treigys received the State Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture of Lithuania. He lives and works in Klaipeda, Lithuania.
