Infra
by Rebecca Topakian
Photographs: Rebecca Topakian
Publisher: Classe Moyenne Editions
Year: 2017
Price: 22 €
Comments: Size: A4, 40 unbound pages, softcover, Red Semi-transparent envelope, Off-set silver HUV print on Serio Nero paper
The book Infra- displays, without any text, photographs taken with an infrared technic of people dancing in an unknown context – probably in night clubs or rave parties.
The pages of the book are unbound, like posters, giving the viewer two possible ways of reading. The first way would be linear and mixes parts of bodies, creating chimeras. By taking the elastic band out, the reader can discover the entire images and reassemble the book the way they want.
The shapes, almost ghostly, reveal themselves under the light thanks to the printing technique: silver on black paper.
Shortlisted Author Book Prize, Rencontres d’Arles 2018
