Poland is the country where I was born and where I live. I created project “Poland. In search of diamonds” because I was always amazed with places and situations that were close to my heart. Situations that I saw and passed by every day. For the past years, since 1989, when the communism was abolished, Poland is in constant process of changes, trying to catch up with western European countries. What fascinates me most, is a sort of absurd, which shows off, while those changes take place. When old meets new, poverty meets wealth, and tradition is up against new order. Contrast, humour and ludicrous situations, in my opinion, show best what Poland really is. (Tomasz Wiech)
